Forest Hill, Walmer Rd and surrounding area

@ 02:05 PM (16 months, 3 days ago)

Location: Forest Hill Region Places included: The Forest Hill village, Upper Canada College, St Clair Reservoir.

Forest Hill was originally a high-end suburb for the English Canadian elite. Now no longer a suburb it still boasts million dollar mansions that will leaving you gasping in awe. Previously with  more of an old english background the Forest Hill area now hosts large Jewish communities starting from Bathurst and going as far north as Richmond Hill and Vaughn. It is also home to Canda's premier boys school - Upper Canada College.

G'day and Welcome!

@ 11:44 AM (16 months, 6 days ago)

Greetings!

Most of you who know me well understand my passion for photography. Early this year I decided to make a goal for myself - to take as many photos of Toronto as possible. I didn't want to take just aimless "random" pictures that had no direction though. I wanted it to count towards an achievement. Something to gloss over in years to come and say " Hey, I did that!". Over the past two and a half years living in and observing Toronto I've been lucky enough to soak up the city's culture by attending concerts, festivals, parties, being apart of sporting teams, eating a variety of international cuisine and just plain old walking along the summer and winter pavement. Toronto is divided into many sub-sections and vibrant cultural neighborhoods. Without the culture the city (as would many cities) would seem bland. It adds variety and a different flavour. I have made it my job to visit these neighborhood pockets in my spare time and capture the true spirit of this city. This blog will display a whole variety of snaps across different seasons. I will post a link to my flickr website with each post to share with everyone. There is no timeline to finish. I think the contrasting seasons would also make for an interesting batch of pictures? I shall post a list in the coming weeks of what parts of Toronto I will be targeting for photographs.

Cheers,

Justin Robertson.
